Autumn 2024 Press Release
New York City - 03 October 2024 - Hartwick Atelier Unveils Debut Collections in New York: A New Era of Limited Edition Slow Fashion
- Specializing in Handspun and Handwoven Fabrics, Natural Dye Silks, and Handcrafted Fine Jewellery
- Sophisticated Lifestyle Collections, Made by Master of Heritage Craft
Hartwick Atelier, an emerging innovator in limited edition slow fashion, is thrilled to announce the launch of its debut collection of apparel, fine silk, and fine jewellery.
Hartwick Atelier is a fresh arrival on the slow fashion scene, presenting a euro chic ready-to-wear collection in finely-tailored artisanal fabrics and a handcrafted jewellery line that dazzles with hand-carved precious stones and fine gold.
Founder and Creative Director Angela Hartwick’s elegant lifestyle collection brings together the work of masters in Indian heritage craft with her years working as a stylist and filmmaker in Paris, Dubai and Mumbai. Showcasing the analogue beauty of handspun and handwoven fabrics, hand block prints, natural dyes, fine tailoring, and handcarved precious gems – each handcrafted piece in her collection is a glimpse into the rich history and intricate process that has gone into its creation.
The scope of the collection is a reflection of its founder’s own lifestyle, a spectacular and fascinating blend of cultures, elegance and earthiness. Her ethos comes together in this luscious offering with authentic range.
True to form, Hartwick Atelier’s launch is unfolding in a series of salon-style evenings along the path of Hartwick’s travels this fall, starting in Tatlayoko Lake, Canada where she and her photographer husband have hand built their off-grid homestead deep in pristine wilderness. Moderated, invite-only events in New York, Paris and Dubai will lead to a month-long boutique residency on Chiltern Street in London in December [a collaboration with longtime friend Mickey Ashmore, founder of the iconic handcrafted Sabah Shoes brand.]
“The intention is to invite people into a conversation about true sustainability in fashion, to create an opportunity to really see and feel the fabrics, and to foster an appreciation for the mastery in these pieces…”
“This collection came together over decades of world travel as creatives in fashion and film. At first glance, it’s an elegant lifestyle brand with a distinct character and gorgeous texture. But at its roots, this collection is a portrait of nature and sustainability through refined handcraft. It’s an analogue love story", says Angela Hartwick, Founder and Creative Director.
