The dupatta is worn across South Asia, traditionally over the left shoulder and tucked into a skirt on the opposite side. The large size creates incredible drape and showcases the exquisite layout print in endless shapes, depending on how it is worn.

Oversize Dupatta 01 is block printed by hand in an intricate celestial pattern overall, extending to an indigo arch border and an iron black border on both ends. Hand rolled edges.

Wear it free hanging over the shoulder, across the chest and behind both shoulders or allow the length of the dupatta to drape elegantly around the waist and through the arms at the front. Cool in summer, warm in winter. This is a gorgeous statement piece.

Handwork naturally results in variations. We cherish these imperfections for their human touch.

CELESTIAL Collection

The CELESTIAL collection of Fine Silk is a rare and remarkable offering. Rooted in thousands of years of knowledge, these pieces are made using the natural rhythms of the sun, wind, and water.

Master Colorists use ancient methods to create natural dyes using indigenous plants and minerals including wild indigo, pomegranate bark and seeds, tamarind, turmeric, jaggery, ash, and iron.

Using hand carved wooden blocks, Master Printers print each colour, layer by layer using resist dyeing techniques to create intricate interpretations of floral and celestial patterns.  These processes give way to lustrous geometric colorscapes with deep tonal range.

Each piece requires a minimum of 16 processes, with the silk resting for at least a day between each step.

Hartwick Atelier works with an artisan community that has been doing this work for 10 generations.
