JHUMKA EARRINGS | Silver & Gold
These earrings are a contemporary take on the traditional Jhumka, bell shaped earrings worn in South Asia.
In this entirely handcrafted version, tiny silver beads are suspended from a matte silver dome, which is linked to a convex disc stud. Both the dome and the stud are encircled in handcrafted 18k gold rope.
The origin of Jhumka earrings can be traced back to ancient Chola Tamil empire which makes the style as old as 300s BCE. Jhumkas hold spiritual and symbolic significance in Indian culture; the jingling sound produced by the earrings is believed to bring positive energy and ward off evil spirits.
All of our jewellery is handmade, naturally resulting in small variations. Please contact us for pricing and details.
